THE VENUE

A Landmark on the National Register Of Historic Places

Built in 1912 and designed by renowned architect Jarvis Hunt, The Joliet Union Station is a Bedford-limestone Neo-Classical Revival landmark once serving as the bustling gateway for four of Joliet’s major railroads. Today, the former waiting room and grandeur of that station come alive again as The Grand Ballroom, a unique event venue that preserves soaring arched windows, marble and stone detailing, symmetrical lines, and architectural features that once echoed the comings and goings of a rail hub. Hosting weddings, receptions, and celebrations, this historic crown jewel of downtown Joliet offers a rare blend of past and present.
